Recommendations of AARC for Airway Clearance Techniques in Hospitalised Patients

Fig. 17:  In 2013 the American Association of Respiratory Care published recommendations for airway clearance techniques.[14]  These recommended no routine use in patients with COPD, but airway clearance techniques could be considered in patients with symptomatic secretion retention, although not if the patient is able to mobilize secretions by coughing.  Geiseler J.
