Barnes Ventilation Program Re-admission
This Figure shows the impact of home ventilation on reducing hospital admissions among all the patients who participated in the Barnes ventilation program, including patients who were on ventilation for reasons other than COPD. Nonetheless the results clearly show that across all years prior to instituting the QI Program, the rate of hospital admissions was higher and then decreased in the year after instituting noninvasive home ventilation [home-based NIV].
