Cumulative 5-year stakeholder savings are largely similar for COPD patients treated with NIPPV (AVAPS-AE) versus No NIV or RAD (Bi-level positive pressure)

Briefly, Figure 21 shows the results of an additional analysis that looked at patients who had received a BiPAP device (or RAD, respiratory assist device), versus patients who received the NIPPV with AVAPS AE.  As seen in the Figure, there is a similar cost avoidance for the hospital, similar increase in revenue for the DME provider, and a significant cost avoidance observed for the payer, although these differences are not as significant as was seen for the no NIV versus NIPPV comparison.
