In summary, we created a budget impact model (BIM) to compare the economics for key stakeholders for treatment of severe COPD patients via home NIPPV with AVAPS AE versus either no NIV or NIV with a BiPAP RAD device.  As detailed here for the hospital, the DME provider, and the payer, all 3 stakeholders realized a 5-year accumulative savings for NIPPV versus the comparator.  As discussed in Figures 15, 17, and 19, these savings are primarily driven by the significant reduction that was observed in readmissions, although these savings differ by stakeholder.
