FIG. 29:  Unfortunately, however, in a meta-analysis of a number of studies of hypertension and CPAP treatment, significant blood pressure reduction was less apparent.[16]  As shown in this Figure, a meta-analysis several years ago that pooled a number of studies of the effects of CPAP on blood pressure lowering found that CPAP therapy in obstructive apneic patients with hypertension does lower blood pressure, but the fall in blood pressure is modest, at between 2 to 3 mmHg.[16]
