Effects of CPAP on SV, CO and TPR In HF Patients with OSA
FIG. 10: This Figure shows results from a subgroup of 21 patients from the study described in the previous Figure who underwent CPAP titration for their OSA.[3] The open bars represent the control night without CPAP and the black bars represent the first night on CPAP. Again there were overnight percent changes in stroke volume (SV), cardiac output (CO), and total peripheral resistance (TPR), and it was clear that compared with the control period without CPAP, the reduction of SV was almost completely prevented by CPAP. Similarly both CO and TPR fell by about half on the first night of CPAP.
