MSNA Bursts/Min
FIG. 13: This Figure shows the effects of CPAP on muscle sympathetic nervous system activity (MSNA) measured in the peroneal nerve, which is the nerve that controls the vascular tone of the arteries of the leg.[5] The parameter measured was the number of bursts/min of sympathetic tone. As shown, there was no significant change in MSNA burst frequency in the control group after 1 month, whereas in the group who received CPAP, MSNA decreased by an average of about 15% in all subjects.
