Central Sleep Apnea on CPAP
After referral to the sleep lab, this patient underwent a full pulmonary somnography (PSG) recording, which confirmed that on CPAP with 9.0 cmH2O pressure, this patient experienced CSA with periodic breathing. This Figure illustrates the succession of these events, with both CSA and central hypopneas that should be scored as central events. These events were occurring during non-REM sleep and were associated with significant desaturation.
