FIG 3: The patient’s recovery from his acute cardiac arrest went well, and he next presented with blood pressure 140/89 mmHg with a heart rate of 57 bpm because he was on a beta-blocker.  He was continuing on the ARB and following his post MI intervention and stent he was also taking antiplatelet drugs.  He had normal cardiac function, no decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and no diastolic impairment, as far as we could ascertain.  At this point he was referred to a sleep physician for sleep apnea screening.  He had no symptoms of sleepiness.  He reported tiredness, as seen on the Pichot fatigue scale of 17, and a small increase in his depression scale.  However, his rating on the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) was low, which reflected with in agreement with his cardiac status.
