FIG. 38:  It is known from many studies over the years that physical inactivity is an independent predictor of poor outcome in patients with COPD, as well as in people with other diseases and even in healthy people.  This Figure shows a classic study, the Copenhagen City Heart Study (CCHS), which demonstrated this correlation.[29].
