Squamous Cell Cancer

FIG. 24:  An analysis of data from the Surveillance of Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database[15] taken from patients diagnosed between 1988 and 2003 compared survival in urothelial carcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma and reported that outcome of squamous cell cancer is decisively worse, but especially in advanced cases.  This again stresses the importance of timely diagnosis and aggressive approach, and preferably surgical treatment.
