Thermosensitive hydrogel

FIG. 56:  Reverse thermosensitive hydrogels are in development that exist as fluid at cold temperatures and solidify to a gel at body temperature.  Mitomycin C can be dissolved in this type of gel, potentially increasing the level of drug in the bladder tissue.  Clinical studies are underway to demonstrates that this type of slow-release option offers another way to promote the effect of mitomycin.[45,46]
