STEP 3: Identify Carcinoma In Situ

FIG. 21:  As mentioned previously on the checklist of the TURBT,[20] it is essential to obtain maximal prognostic information on the tumor in the patient with T1 high-grade cancer, especially to identify the location and type of CIS. This can be done by taking mapping bladder biopsies or image-guided biopsies with photodynamic diagnosis (PDD; fluorescence cystoscopy).
