FIG. 9:  This Figure reports data from SWOG 8710[2] examining survival based on pathologic stage.  They show that when patients achieved pT0 they had very good overall survival, especially compared with those patients who did not achieve pT0.   Median survival for the patients randomized to neoadjuvant MVAC had not been reached at the time of the report in 2003.  For patients randomized to surgery alone, median survival was 11.3 years; however, median survival in those who did not achieve pT0 was 3.8 and 2.4 months with neoadjuvant MVAC or surgery alone, respectively.
