Almost Any Diet Can Be Keto
This is my favorite slide to point out that almost any diet can be a keto diet. I could use this slide in any talk about a Mediterranean diet – the diet that we're all taught is probably the healthiest diet, according to nutritional epidemiology studies. But this could also be a Mediterranean keto diet. We can also have a vegan keto diet and a vegetarian keto diet. We can even have a carnivore ketogenic diet or an omnivore ketogenic diet. It runs the spectrum. There isn't just one keto diet, because ketosis is a physiologic state and you can get there by any diet that lowers carbohydrates enough to allow your body to burn fat for energy and produce ketones in the process.
