LCHF VS LOW FAT DIETS
This is another graphical representation of why that happens, comparing a very low carb ketogenic diet to a low fat diet. These are some of the metabolic and lipid changes that you consistently see. Body mass goes down and abdominal fat goes down. But look at the difference in triglycerides with the very low carb ketogenic diet versus the low fat diet. Look at the difference in HDL, and then of course the triglyceride to HDL ratio, which is a very sensitive marker for metabolic health – dramatically improved on a ketogenic diet. Same for the apo B/apo A1 ratio, the small LDL particles, and then of course glucose and insulin. So when you see these metabolic improvements that are associated with eating ketogenic diets, you're decreasing your cardiovascular risk.
