Management of Hyperglycemia in T2DM: Comorbidities: Hypoglycemia

Finally, concerns are emerging about the association between hypoglycemia and increased morbidity and mortality.  Even one episode of hypoglycemia may be associated with higher morbidity and mortality in T2DM, so it is important to avoid hypoglycemia at all costs in these patients.[2] The key is proper drug selection, and for T2DM patients with any increased risk of hypoglycemic episodes, health professionals should be looking to prescribe medications that do not have a high hypoglycemia risk associated with their use.  Kapustin J.
