Management of Hyperglycemia in T2DM: Other Considerations

Figure 9 lists other factors that clinicians must consider when thinking about treatment plans for patients who present with T2DM: age, the patient’s gender; weight; racial, ethnic, and genetic differences; and comorbidities such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, liver dysfunction, and (most important), risk of hypoglycemia.[2] All these factors will be considered in the Figures to follow.  Kapustin J.
